A small-town girl, with big aspirations and lots of determination, dreamed of having her own business. But, like most of us, it took some blood, sweat, and tears to get there.
After graduating from Wake Forest University with a BS in Business Administration, I headed to Charlotte to pursue a career with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). While at Accenture, I worked for clients in the financial services and consumer products industries.
With consulting as a passion and several years under my belt at Accenture, I decided to jump ship and move to Austin, to pursue an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at UT. (Hook ‘em!)
From Austin I headed to New York to pursue a career at Kraft Foods as a Brand Manager in their Beverages division. And that’s where the magic happened… I dove head first into Marketing, and never came up for air.
I made my way back to Austin in 2008, went to work for the McCombs School of Business, and launched Spur Consulting in 2012. And that’s how my story goes — a steady career journey with a purpose.
So here we are. Consulting experience. Check. Marketing experience. Check. Starting a marketing consulting venture. Double-check. I have been thrilled to help a growing list of clients in Austin, both start-ups and established businesses, in a variety of industries.
I have experience across all areas of Marketing: advertising, media planning, website development, branding, consumer insights, promotions, PR, packaging, new product development, sales, and operations. While at Kraft, I led the Kraft Diabetic Choices effort, started a new Customer Marketing sales group, and worked on a joint venture with Starbucks. In addition to leading Spur Consulting, I serve as a Project Coach for the UT McCombs School of Business MBA+ micro-consulting projects, as well as a board member of the Circle C Child Development Center and the Baldwin Elementary Campus Advisory Council.
At Spur, I believe and practice the following:
I oversee all project work with the help of an all-star team: a graphic designer, a web developer, and a team of video producers. Together, we’ve got you covered. Let’s talk about how we can leverage our collective experience to help you and your organization grow.
